OES announces a conference on Launch and Recovery of Manned and Unmanned Vehicles from Surface Platforms: Current and Future Trends November 8-9, 2005 Annapolis, MD

Abstracts Due: August 16

This conference, sponsored by the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE), will address the need to operate both manned and unmanned vehicles from surface platforms with particular regard to methods and means of quickly and safely launching and recovering a wide variety of such vehicles. This is an area of intense research and development in both the naval and commercial maritime sectors. Vehicles that will be addressed at the conference include manned helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, manned boats including RIBS, rescue craft and tenders, Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs), Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs), and Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs). Surface platforms include naval, coast guard, commercial and passenger ships, offshore platforms and other vessels.

ASNE expects a broad domestic and international participation and attendance, of both users as well as system vendors and integrators. This will be an excellent forum to build future relationships that can accelerate and broaden research, development and application. Further conference details, a call for papers or presentations, and contact information, can be found at the ASNE website.
