OES Electronic Newsletter Volume 2, Number 21, August 12, 2005

OCEANS '06 Asia Pacific will be held from 16 - 19 May 2006 in Singapore. The theme of the conference is "Ocean Engineering in Asia - the Next Frontier." Oceans '06 Asia Pacific IEEE is designed to be a premiere international conference that is of interest to the ocean community and aims to be the world's primary staging location for significant breakthroughs that will change the paradigm for future ocean sciences and marine technology operations. It provides a forum for delegates to meet and gain an understanding of mutual concerns and the challenges in the ocean arena.

Abstracts are due October 16, 2005 and are solicited in the following areas, but not limited to: Remote Ocean Sensing/Ocean Observatories Oceanographic Instrumentation Underwater Acoustics and Signal Processing Non-acoustic Signal Processing Tsunami Early Warning Systems Marine Communication, Navigation and Positioning Physical Oceanography Remotely Operated/ Unmanned Underwater Vehicles Maritime Security Sonar Signal and Image Processing Current Measurements Submarine Cable Technology Maritime Information Processing Bathymetry Naval Architecture and Ship Building Ocean Policy Technology Underwater Construction Path Planning, Mapping and Navigation of AUVs Deepwater Geophysical and Geotechnical Survey Offshore Technologies Coastal Zone Management Renewable Energies Port & Harbor/Marine Transportation.
