Homeland Security Technology Workshop 05 Newport

The IEEE - Oceanic Engineering Society (IEEE-OES) and NAVSEA-Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) will co-host the IEEE-OES Homeland Security Technology Workshop 2005 - Ocean and Maritime Technologies for Infrastructure Protection at the Marriott at Newport, RI on December 6, 7, and 8. The theme for the third annual workshop is "Under the Water, On the Water, and Over the Water". For more information go to http://www.oceanicengineering.org select "conferences and workshops" and choose "IEEE Homeland Security"

HSWT05 is a unique opportunity to network with the engineers and scientists from academia, government, military, and industry representatives from the US and other nations. Port and harbor and other underwater infrastructure protection issues have been recognized in Europe and Asia as vital to stopping terrorism. TEHOSS 2005 (IEEE OES co-sponsored) was just held in Gdansk, Poland as an adjunct to our HSTW series, therefore we will be explaining both multi-national and region specific issues. Please come to HSTW05 and be recognized as being part of the solution to protecting ports and harbors as well as critical maritime infrastructure and eco-systems against global terrorism.
