IEEE RFID on-line magazine

The IEEE is committed to a new (RFID-focused) on-line magazine for engineering practitioners. Help is needed to select an EIC, appoint an Editorial Committee, and enlist Steering Committee volunteers, with plan of releasing the first issue in March, 2007 to coincide with the the RFID World conference in Dallas.

One possible model is a 30-40 page quarterly publication with 2-3 columns, possibly freelanced, and 25-30 pages of peer reviewed editorial content. Ideally the authors and "peer reviewers" would be practicing engineers but it may be wise to recruit academics that have close ties with manufactures. Each article / applications note would need at least two reviews, three would be ideal. A "rolling" (minimum) 4-issue editorial calender would provide 6 months or so for the review and publication process. This (current) vision of publication is subject to the "onset of reality" as the work gets underway.
