11:00 AM- 12:00 PM MARCH 15, 2006 College Station, TX

The National Office for Integrated and Sustained Ocean Observations is holding an IOOS-Industry Information Exchange Forum to investigate the potential for private sector involvement in answering the current and future needs for ocean observing technologies. Speakers from the US Department of State, NOAA and the IOOS-Ocean.US office will discuss the current international need for additional tsunami warning systems, progress currently underway improving the US National Tsunami Hazard Mitigation system, and how these activities contribute to the Integrated Ocean Observing System. A panel of experts comprised of engineers and managers involved in these initiatives from Government and Industry will be on hand to answer questions.
