Potential Virus at OTO'08

The Oceanic Engineering Society wishes to inform its members of two viruses that were present at Oceans/Techno-Oceans '08 in Kobe earlier this month. The viruses, specified as "Bloodhound.Packed.Jmp" and "Packed.Generic.61", were found on the conference PCs used by the speakers and presenters. Conference coordinators HAD constructed a barrier on each presentation PC against virus attack, but despite the precaution, the viruses may have slipped into speakers' PCs via USB memories used for PPT file transfer between the speaker's PC and a presentation PC.

As a result, we strongly suggest that each attendee at OTO '08 check their PC for these viruses and take any steps they feel are appropriate to protect themselves and their colleagues who may have been exposed.
