Passive '08 Workshop on Passive Systems for Enviromental Monitoring

IEEE/OES is organizing a workshop in the South of France dedicated to New trends for environmental monitoring using passive systems on October 14-17, 2008. The Passive'08 workshop (http://www.passive08-hyeres.org/)

will be concerned by all passive systems (underwater, surface and near-surface systems) from signal interpretation to processing algorithms to system conception. The registration

(http://www.passive08-hyeres.org/delegate/register/page1.cfm) is open and you are all welcome to participate.

The workshop consists of 2 parallel tracks: the first track is dealing with the underwater passive techniques (including cetacean); the second one is revolving around sensors, specific electronics and electromagnetic (including microwaves) and application sessions.

The workshop will provide authors of papers of relevance quality for their contribution to passive systems the opportunity to further shape their work for submission to a special issue of the Journal of Oceanic Engineering (see http://www.oceanicengineering.org/). The theme of the special issue will be set after the theme of the workshop.
