The IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) sponsors two OCEANS Conferences each year. OCEANS in the Americas will be jointly co-sponsored by the IEEE/OES and the Marine Technology Society and will typically convene in September or October. OCEANS in Asia-Pacific (even years) and OCEANS in Europe (odd years) will alternate years and will generally convene in May or June. The Marine Technology Society will also join IEEE/OES in co-sponsoring the 2012 Yeosu, Korea and 2013 Bergen, Norway conferences. The new format is intended to recognize, encourage, and support greater international participation in the OCEANS Conference.
